Continuing the mixed bag of songs I’ve picked this week, here’s this. The latest single from the supergroup NHC comprising Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Chris Chaney (The Coattail Riders).
It has an interesting sound this. It’s alternative rock, sure, and yet there are some classic sounds in there. The Beatles, Queen, maybe even a bit of ELO? I know Hawkins is a big Queen and 70’s rock fan so I suppose it’s inevitable that there would be some influence there. I like it though. It’s a little different. Having gotten together in lockdown the trio have been working on a bit of material so expect some more to be released soon.
