Paerish are an indie rock four piece from France. Their debut album Semi Finalists came out in 2016 and has some great songs on it with titles like ‘Winona Ryder’ and ‘I Got Punched in the Face, What’s Your Excuse?’
I read somewhere that they count Offspring and Weezer in their list of influences, and they do have a touch of early millenial US alt rock, even nu metal to their sound. ‘Fixed it All’ came out in August and is, I think, I hope, a single from a forthcoming new album. There’s a suggestion it might be the title track but don’t quote me on that. For the second time this week already, I’m actually reminded a little bit of Smashing Pumpkins here. I think it’s buried somewhere in the melody on the chorus. Otherwise it’s a loud, chugging, dense track this. It’s good. It’s really good.
The band have toured with some big names, including Sum 41, so they’re definitely making an impression. But this is a band to keep an eye on. Some great music on the way from them I think (as well as some already in the bag if you check out their last record and new single ‘Archives’).
