Track of the Day – WILLIE J HEALEY – Polyphonic Love

Willie J Healey is from Oxford here in the UK and produces music that veers, if you read his online bio, between garage rock, Americana and psychedelia. To me he has more of a classic, almost timeless rock sound. Very melodic, a bit folky, occasionally bluesy, and with a bit of grit from time to time.

‘Polyphonic Love’ is from his forthcoming second album Twin Heavy, but could almost be from the George Harrison record All Things Must Pass. It also reminds me, a little bit, of the clever revisionism of classic rock that Ron Gallo did on his debut album. It’s great anyway, and a nice change of pace from a lot of the frenetic punk stuff I post up here.

Twin Heavy is out in August, so keep an eye out for that one.  But in the meantime, his debut People and their Dogs is available to check out as well as a few other singles.
