Glass Violet’s latest release, “Over The Moor”, is a catchy, anthemic track. It’s their third single, and follows the two excellent songs they released last year, “North Sentinel Island”, and “Chemicals”, both of which I featured on Ignite Rock Show.
Alex John and Tom Hurdiss met in Summer of 2018 and began working on material for Glass Violet for several months before recruiting Matt West (Drums), Josh Walsh (Bass) and Declan Pollard (Synth/Keys) to complete the line up. The band take inspiration from artists such as Kasabian, The Killers, and Foals, which has resulted in an anthemic sounding set of songs consisting of huge chorus’s, soaring guitar riffs and melodramatic breakdowns.
In March, 2019, the band released demo track “North Sentinel Island” which was followed by self produced debut single “Chemicals” on August 16th. Both tracks have been backed by the likes of This Feeling and received air play on BBC Radio Bristol and Amazing Radio.
