I picked a Misty Miller song for track of the day back in 2017. Back then she was producing really good punk-pop songs and showing herself to be a real promising talent. Since then she’s spent a couple of years in indie duo Bad Parents and is now back with some more solo material in the form of her new EP Fruit.
I’ll break the suspense – this is brilliant. Every time I listen to it I get goosebumps. Miller’s voice is incredible on it. It shows her evolution as an artist brilliantly I think, pulling together some of her early style with things she’s obviously brought back from Bad Parents. It might just be me, but it seems like I can hear echoes of Ok Computer era Thom Yorke in this somewhere. It’s beautiful anyway. Miller is a singer songwriter who is maturing into something special. If there were any justice in the world ‘Late’ would be playing all over a radio near you right now.
