Another band I’ve written about on here before, both when I picked their single ‘Fresh Meat‘ as a track of the day and when I wrote more generally about the Glasgow music scene.
They’re looking quite slick these days, quite well groomed. But the music still has its raw edge and driving rhythm. I really like this band. They have a new wave kind of energy about them – there are bits of this song that bring to mind 80’s post-punk goth music to me. Like members of the Jesus & Mary Chain teamed up with Siouxsie’s Banshees, with a splash of Sisters of Mercy thrown in for good measure. And it all descends into some pretty atmospheric echoing distortion towards the end. I mean, what’s not to like about that?
