Track of the Day – BRYAN’S MAGIC TEARS – Ghetto Blaster

I’ve definitely mentioned before that my favourite style of music is lo-fi, American indie rock. Anything with a slacker vibe to it, a bit of melody, and a sharp dischordant contrast here and there. Like Pavement, The Pixies, The Babies, The Shins etc. etc. etc. Well, this would seem to be the perfect record for me wouldn’t it? If Bryan’s Magic Tears were indeed American, as opposed to French. Well, don’t I feel slightly stupid…

No, this is great. I love everything about it. I was so convinced it was a US band until I did a bit of research into them and discovered they were formed in Paris by Benjamin Dupont in 2014. So there you go.

‘Ghetto Blaster’ is from the band’s album 4 AM which came out last year. It’s a great record. I’ve been listening to it a lot over the last couple of weeks.
