Track of the Day – KEVIN DEVINE – Into The Great Wide Open

I find most of the music I like by following trails. On Spotify, on Youtube, via word of mouth. Kevin Devine has taken part in the Devinyl splits series of records where artists share a release with someone else they respect, then that artist takes the next release and shares it with someone else, and so on. And that’s essentially how I came across him.

Devine is from Brooklyn, New York and has been putting out indie rock and indie folk music since the early 2000’s. I picked this cover of Tom Petty’s ‘Into the Great Wide Open’ because, well, because it’s a great song and I like it. And it’s a nice tribute to an underrated talent we lost at the end of last year.

Last blog post of the year from me this one, so happy New Year. Hope 2019 is a good one for everyone.
