Bed are from Portland. Of course they are. How many great bands have come out of Portland now? Dozens? Hundreds? The place is a music mecca. I went there once. It was very cool.
On Bandcamp and Facebook the band describe themselves as a “slo-fi trio”. I guess that’s the problem when your music defies genre a little bit: you have to come up with your own classification. But we don’t really care about that do we? We can call it alt-rock, or noise-pop, or just a really great song.
They cite Low and The Delgados among their influences. And there’s some nice sludgy guitar lurking beneath the chiming melody and the indie lyrics on this one. I like it. A lot. Definitely a band to keep an eye (and an ear) on.
