Recommended Music: About Time – Age of Man

a1821148686_16

Age of Man are a trio from El Dorado who are producing some awesome blues-rock music that is reminiscent of the sound of the ’60s and ’70s. Listening to their debut album, “About Time”, is like taking a trip back in time to an era when raw blues rock was simpler and from the heart. This is an album that rock fans will love. There are a lot of bands producing bluesy retro-style rock these days and it’s a style that is becoming more popular. Age of Man are a band to watch. Their laid back groove is addictive. All ten songs are smooth and evocative. My favourites at the moment are “Better Half”, “Sun & Rain”, and “Whatchado”.

You can stream the album and buy either the CD or download version on their Bandcamp page: http://ageofmanband.bandcamp.com/album/about-time

Band bio:

Age of Man are an El Dorado-based rock trio comprised of Matt Benson on lead guitar and vocals, Brandon Borden on drums, and Eric Stone on bass/organ. Their thick and muddy brand of blues-steeped guitar rock is reminiscent of a simpler time, stripped of modern musical conventions and cleverly re-imagined from its very core.

Influences: Muddy Waters, Junior Kimbrough, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Howlin’ Wolf, Radio Moscow, Dan Auerbach, the Black Keys.
