New Music: Pounds, Shillings and Pence – Burning Astronomers

Last year, I interviewed a talented band from the UK who are producing some very original music. Burning Astronomers had just released their excellent EP “Red Van” when I interviewed them. You can check out the interview at the following link:

The band have just released a fabulous new EP, “Pounds, Shillings and Pence”. The new EP is a collection of five mellow and nostalgic tracks. The songs reminded me in parts of The Beatles. This band have a wonderful way of writing songs that tell stories and evoke images in the mind of the listener. The songs in this collection are both melancholy and uplifting in equal measure. As you listen to the music it’s almost like being transported to another place in time. Their songs are always full of passion and depth. You can listen on Soundcloud.

Track list:

  1. Peaceful Psychedelia
  2. House on the Hill
  3. Black Rock Blue
  4. Waiting On the Line
  5. Romance in Raincoats

“Pounds, Shillings and Pence” is available to purchase on iTunes:
